Our Local Area
We cover a large area extending from Caudete in the North, down to the mountains of Sierra Espuña in the South, incorporating parts of Albacete, Murcia and Alicante, and the towns and surrounding villages of Yecla, Pinoso, Sax, Jumilla, and Villena.

It is a colourful area of rolling hills and vineyards, olives, all types of fruit trees, small hamlets, market towns and friendly people still enjoying a traditional lifestyle.
Wine can be bought directly from the cellars (bodegas) from huge barrels, for less than the price of a litre of milk in England.
Local restaurants will cook you a delicious paella over an open fire. Fiestas are taken very seriously with fireworks, street parties, children running with the baby bulls and bleary eyed people wandering home as others start work for the day.

Life in rural Spain is good, with a very low crime rate and plenty of facilities and opportunities for all the family.
The properties for sale reflect this traditional lifestyle as well and many people inherit wooden farm implements, bread kneading troughs and melon baskets with their purchase.

Most properties have a well in addition to mains or deposit water and are built with thick stone walls to keep out the chill of winter and the heat of the summer.
Generally the temperatures here are 2 or 3 degrees lower than on the coast, making the climate much more temperate and enjoyable.

From the early part of the year, when the almond blossom casts a pink mist over the area, followed by the wild poppies and purple, white and yellow flowers of early spring, right through the green vines and grey/green olives of the summer, the area is a blaze of colour, terminating in the late autumn when the vines cover the land with a patchwork quilt of orange, red and brown hues.

Despite being in the heart of the countryside, the area we cover is still within easy commuting distance of Alicante .
The beaches and airport are within an hour of most of our properties, and when the new Murcian airport opens in the not too distant future, travellers will have a second choice. |
